BHK Cooperative, a collaboration between independent designers Elinor Brown, Amy Herzog, and Kirsten Kapur, was born out of a common love of clean lines, bright colors, and flattering and wearable hand knits. Individually, our works have been featured widely in both online and print media, and in every major knitting publication in the US. However, our uniquely complementing styles and aesthetics made collaborative work all the more appealing. In fact, we had so much fun working together, we cannot wait to do it again!
The Charles Collection would not have been possible without the help of many people.
We would like to thank Alisha Goes Around, Berroco, Blue Sky Alpacas, Lorna's Laces, Madelinetosh, Malabrigo Yarns, The Plucky Knitter, Shelridge Farm, and The Woolen Rabbit for generously donating their beautiful yarns for the designs in this collection.
Many thanks to Caro Sheridan for her humor, patience, friendship, and keen talent. In less than ideal circumstances, she was able to capture the spirit of The Charles Collection in her exceptional photographs, just as we knew she would. Many thanks to Jenn Jarvis for her speedy work, eye for detail, and infinite patience in tech editing our patterns. Many thanks to Aaron Brown for his on-call web design and tech support, all in the interest of continued marital bliss. And homemade apple pie.
Also thanks to Sofie Kapur and Amy Herzog for modeling wool sweaters and still looking gorgeous on a hot, humid August day. And to our very special model, Jacques the Wonderdog, lots of belly rubs for being an adorably scrappy and willing prop.
Our photoshoot would not have been nearly as much fun or successful without the help of our families. Thanks to Odysseus Brown for vacating his stroller so we could transport our pile of hand knits about Cambridge. And to Isabella Kapur for loaning us Dracula as a prop, and for managing a stroller full of wool on a hot day.
Finally, we would like to thank our families for their constant love and support in all of our endeavors, knitted and otherwise.
